Rumors: Netflix has started testing the spatial sound feature for the AirPods Pro and AirPods Max headphones​

According to Western publications, the Netflix service may have started testing a new feature of surround (spatial) sound for AirPods Pro and AirPods Max headphones. If you believe the rumors, a special 3D sound technology will be available for devices based on iOS 14.

There are no technical details yet, but experts have suggested that Netflix’s immersive mobile audio will be a development of Apple’s already existing spatial sound technology, which is available to AirPods Pro and AirPods Max users. This system constantly monitors the position of the listener’s head and adjusts the signal accordingly.

It should be noted that immersive Dolby Atmos sound is only available to Premium Netflix subscribers. Based on this, we can assume that the spatial sound for Apple headphones will also be available only to such users.
