Sennheiser adds audiophile sound mode to Momentum True Wireless 2 headphones

Sennheiser has released a software update for the Momentum True Wireless 2 headphones – they received a sound mode for the “most demanding ears” called High-End Sound Tuning Mode.

According to the developers, with the help of DSP, they brought the sound of the model closer to audiophile headphones. We started by simulating the effects of the Helmholtz resonator used in the IE 800 series to eliminate resonances and make the midrange reproduction cleaner.

We also slightly increased the upper mids and lower parts of the high-frequency range: due to this, the sonic presentation of the vocals became more realistic and natural. Sorted out with the bass – it is now more balanced and does not “flow” into the middle, remaining clear and dense.

As a result, if you believe the description, in this mode the sound is faster, more dynamic and cleaner – and this is especially felt on high-quality recordings. You can enable audiophile mode in the Smart Control App for iOS and Android devices. The mode is only available for the second generation of Momentum True Wireless headphones.
