Shanling adds MQA support to M5s player

Shanling’s M5s portable player is the first in the company’s catalog to fully support MQA – it has full decoder functionality and is ready to recognize both MQA files and Tidal streams. The owners of the players just need to update the software to version 4.0.

The Shanling M5s itself is a medium-sized player built on the basis of two AK4493EQ chips, two TI OPA1612 and two ADI AD8397 (respectively, a balanced output is a plus to the unbalanced one). It supports many wireless options: Wi-Fi with streaming, DLNA and AirPlay, and two-way Bluetooth with LDAC, aptX and AAC codecs.

A neat design with a rounded glass covering the bezel and metal body for comfortable use. The player can be operated with one hand thanks to the well-thought-out layout of the keys and the 3.2-inch touchscreen display, offset to the top of the player. The player has enough battery for 17 hours of operation.

Shanling M5s first hit the market at the end of 2018 and are still receiving updates.
