Shenzhen-based Shanling has unveiled BA1 Desktop Hi-Fi Bluetooth Receiver. The novelty is equipped with DAC ESS Saber ES9218P, it also provides a headphone amplifier.
Shanling BA1 supports Bluetooth 5.0. The Qualcomm CSR8675 chipset will support the aptX HD, aptX LL, aptX, AAC, SBC, LDAC and LHDC codecs. The latter two support the transmission of high-res audio up to 24 bit / 96 kHz. The device claims a signal-to-noise ratio of 115 dB.
Linear stereo RCA output will allow you to connect Shanling BA1 to an amplifier or active acoustics, and there is also a digital optical output. Via USB Shanling BA1 is ready to work with a computer as an external sound card-DAC.
In this case, the device supports a signal up to 16 bit / 48 kHz. The device also receives power via USB, consuming 1 A of current. In other words, Shanling BA1 can use almost any USB smartphone power adapter. This component is not included in the package.
The Shanling BA1 Bluetooth receiver, DAC and headphone amplifier will be available from November 2020. The MSRP in the US is $170.
