Statistics: the most popular gadgets of the end of 2020 are AirPods and Apple Watch

Analysts from the International Data Corporation (IDC) shared statistics on sales of wearable gadgets. According to IDC, in the fourth quarter of last year, sales of such devices grew by 27% (compared to the fourth quarter of 2019). Apple was ahead of all: 36% of all gadgets sold were made by this company. If we talk about the main competitors, then Samsung has 8.5%, Xiaomi – 8.7%.

Apple managed to overtake everyone in sales due to a 45% rise in demand for the Apple Watch smartwatch. In addition, demand for AirPods has grown by 22%. In total, the company sold 55.6 million wearable gadgets (quarterly). There is no exact data on the headphones, but the well-known analyst and expert Ming-Chi Kuo said that about 90 million AirPods were sold for the entire 2020.

Huawei is behind Apple, Xiaomi and Samsung. Despite the US sanctions, the company managed to achieve good results, primarily due to the growth of sales in China.
