Teac AP-701 dual channel power amplifier: custom Hypex Ncore modules in strict dual mono

The Teac AP-701 amplifier tops the Reference series. This is a fully balanced amplifier, made in full “dual mono” – starting with separate power transformers. Two Hypex Electronics Ncore power amplifier modules, created specifically for this model, are responsible for the output signal. The signal for them is prepared by discrete buffer amplifiers.

Two amplifiers, essentially separate, were placed in a “rack-mount” case of small height and depth. The result is that the new product is more convenient to connect and fits better into the interior. The Teac AP-701 is decorated with large analog volume level indicators on the front panel.

The novelty is capable of delivering up to 260 W in the channel to the speakers with a resistance of 4 ohms, while it was possible to do with passive cooling: excess energy is transferred to a massive 3-mm base plate and ribbed sides of the case. To mitigate vibration, the transformers are mounted on vibration-damping elements.

The patented three-post system makes surface placement of the amplifier hassle-free – no adjustments required. The Teac AP-701 is equipped with a 12V input and loop-through trigger to coordinate on and off with other devices.

In terms of its design and capabilities, the UD-701N USB DAC / Network Player interacts especially well with the Teac AP-701 power adapter. The novelty is available in silver and black finishes.
