TOPPING A50s: updated A50 headphone amplifier
The well-known Chinese brand has introduced the new A50s headphone amplifier, the D50s DAC and the P50 linear power supply have previously appeared. The device has a symmetrical design and is equipped with a balanced 4.4 mm headphone output (there is also a regular 6.3mm).
The case is machined from an aluminum blank on a CNC machine and serves as a heat sink for the operational amplifiers and power elements of the power supply. The circuit is built on proprietary NFCA (Nested Feed Composite Amplifier) modules, which provide the device with a low level of distortion and noise. It also implements the proprietary UHGF (Ultra High Gain Feedback) technology.
In the pre-mode, the output stages are de-energized, they turn on only after connecting the headphones, while the pre-amplification circuits are turned off. Output Power – 3.5W into 32Ohms or 760mW into 300 Ohms on balanced output with both channels loaded. The amplifier output impedance is close to zero.
The device is offered on the world market for $199 with a switching power adapter included. A linear P50 can be purchased separately to improve sound quality.
