Arya Audio Releases Alternative AirBlade 180° Tweeter
The British company Arya Audio Labs has announced the release of the AirBlade tweeter in a housing with level and low frequency selectors. This AirBlade can complement conventional speakers.
We have already talked about this acoustic transducer. AirBlade is a ribbon tweeter with a diaphragm made of aluminum “blades” in the form of half rings, combined with conductive tracks.
This movable system weighing 3 grams and an area of almost 200 square centimeters is placed in a field of 34 neodymium magnets. When an electrical signal is applied, adjacent sectors are attracted or repelled, depending on the direction of the current.
With an impedance of 3.6 ohms, the AirBlade tweeter provides a purely resistive load to the amplifier and operates from 1 to 20 kHz, according to Arya Audio Labs. The shape of the radiator provides a uniform 180° radiation pattern with an impedance of 3.6 ohms and a sensitivity of 95 dB.
To adjust speaker compatibility, a tweeter level selector from 0 to -12 dB and a filter frequency switch that limits the low frequency of the range from 1 to 3.5 kHz are provided on the rear of the cabinet.
Arya Audio Labs has not yet announced the exact timing of the AirBlade tweeter on sale. The model will be priced in the UK around £8,000 per pair.
