Astell&Kern AK USB-C Dual DAC Cable: DAC with cable to improve the sound of gadgets and laptops
A new model of Astell&Kern AK USB-C Dual DAC Cable is presented. It can be used with any Android, Windows or MacOS device.
It is built on two Cirrus Logic CS43198 MasterHIFi chips and provides native support for DSD256 and PCM 32/384 streams. Owners of iOS devices will not be able to take advantage of this DAC, since these devices do not provide sufficient output voltage for power.
In addition to the DAC, a miniature zinc alloy housing contains an amplifier that produces a voltage of up to 2 V. The model uses a USB-C port to connect to a source, and a 3.5mm jack is provided for headphones. The built-in four-core cable features silver-plated and pure copper conductors and a Technora aramid jacket.
The Astell&Kern AK USB-C Dual DAC Cable weighs only 25 grams. The novelty will be on sale in April 2021, its price in Europe will be about 130 euros.
