Audyssey Announces More Detailed MultEQ-X Calibration Software
Founded in 2002, California-based Audyssey has released an updated MultEQ-X software suite to complement the MultEQ system. It is an integral solution for spatial audio systems such as modern home theater systems. It works on AV receivers and processors from companies such as Denon and Marantz, allowing you to fine-tune the sound of your kit in real-life conditions.
Audyssey assures that the updated MultEQ-X is built from scratch and uses more detailed information about room acoustics through more accurate measurements. In particular, it uses a more sophisticated display of frequency characteristics for individual channels. Slow and ultra-slow time intervals are used in the subwoofer level control. In addition, many other parameters were taken into account.
All this made it possible to apply the modernized constructor of the target curve, in which the “Cutoff Mode” control appeared. The software is compatible with the Audyssey MultEQ Editor mobile app for iOS and Android. The system also works on PCs running 64-bit Microsoft Windows 10 with October 2018 updates or later. MultEQ-X is already available for download from the Microsoft Store and includes a virtual demo.
In practice, calibrating one real system using Audyssey MultEQ-X would require a license purchase, which costs $200 in the US.
