Bfly-audio Octopus Clamp

Bfly-audio introduced the Octopus modular vinyl record holder. Depending on the specific conditions and requests of the future owner, you can get a clamp with the desired weight, functionality, design and mechanical properties.

The name Octopus – was chosen because of the “octagonal” structure of the device. It integrates eight birch wood hemispheres in eight radial grooves. The wooden parts absorb the axial vibrations of the disc and transfer them to the damping gel pads.

Radial vibrations are absorbed by a special plastic surrounding the disc axis, combined with a weighting copper module. In addition, the Bfly-audio Octopus mechanics can be added to the function of clamping the axis. Then the clamp more effectively neutralizes the unevenness of the vinyl itself, which is found in some records.

The clamping handle, spherical or cylinder-shaped, like all Octopus copper parts, is coated with a special varnish to prevent oxidation. In the center of the product is a copper “coin” with the company logo, which can be made of silver on request.

Octopus modifications can be used not only as a regular clamp. The Octopus with clamping functions in Bfly-audio was recommended to be used as a supplement to the branded PG1 or PG0 loads.

In Germany, the Bfly-audio Octopus in various versions costs from 450 euros.
