Børresen Acoustics O and Z Series Available in Cryo and Silver

Børresen Acoustics from Denmark has added Cryo and Silver Supreme versions to its O and Z series floorspeakers catalog. In both series, the concave spherical diffusers are a 4-mm honeycomb structure between two layers of thin, heavy-duty carbon composite, and the upper range is provided by ribbon tweeters.

Each of the two series includes three floor lamps (models 2, 3 and 5) and one “rack” column (model 1). The older O series uses ring-shaped neodymium magnets for low-and mid-frequency drivers.

In the Cryo Edition, the metal components of the Z-series speakers receive cryogenic treatment, which lasts about a day. After that, the impurities are displaced from the granular structure of the metal, bringing it closer to the properties of a single crystal. According to Børresen, this “opens up a new dimension of playback”.

In addition, the O-series is now available to optionally equip the drivers with silver — metal parts with maximum electrical conductivity. Also in the Silver Supreme Edition, the copper pole rings of the midrange and bass players were replaced with handmade silver rings of their own production.
