The album was re-released on CD and vinyl in two special versions. The Giant Steps: 60th Anniversary Deluxe Edition includes the main tracks and eight additional draft recordings.
Also in the Anniversary Deluxe Edition fans will find rare photos, manuscripts (copies) and other interesting bonus materials. For the biggest fans, Rhino has prepared an expanded Super Deluxe Edition with 20 additional alternative “rough” recordings.
Coltrane recorded the album “Giant Steps” in 1959. It was the jazzman’s fifth full-length album and the first work to be released on Atlantics Records.
