Schiit Jotunheim 2 Headphone Amplifier: Balanced circuit, preamp and optional modules
Schiit Audio has announced the release of the Jotunheim 2 headphone amplifier / preamp. The model, which has a modular design, is based on the proprietary technologies Nexus (discrete balanced circuitry) and Continuity S (a special output stage circuit with increased linearity and energy efficiency).
According to the press release, the Jotunheim 2 retains the main distinguishing features of the first version of the amplifier — power and versatility. According to the company, the novelty is ” six times lower than the market value without loss of quality.” At the same time, the amplifier is “assembled on top-class precision components”, including JFET transistors, Alps RK27114 volume control, relay switches for inputs, outputs and gain.
The mentioned scheme using Continuity S technology is designed to increase efficiency and reduce distortion. In addition, Schiit noted that Continuity S will eliminate losses and overcurrent.
In addition, the manufacturer has provided a new option: now on the front panel there is a switch for speaker outputs, which enables the user to quickly remove going to the monitors, the signal if used headphones.
The cost in the basic version will be approximately 600$.
