Signalyst HQPlayer 4.15.1 gets HighResAudio compatibility

Signalyst programmers continued to develop their HQPlayer 4, presenting it already in version 4.15.1. This multi-platform product (runs on Microsoft Windows, Linux and Apple macOS, and a separate version of Signalyst HQPlayer 4 Embedded has been created for Linux) will now also provide access to high-definition streaming from the German provider HighResAudio. Its content will complement the existing access to Qobuz.

Thus, the developers of HQPlayer 4 develop their universal system. The player, with its very simple interface, supports CDDA, FLAC, WavPack (PCM and DSD), DSDIFF (DFF, no compression), DSF, RIFF (WAV, including DXD / RF64), AIFF, RAW streams and, of course, MP3. By the way, MQA is also supported.

The player is ready to do up/downscaling within 32bit/1.536MHz or up to 8bit/32kHz PCM in 39 variants. You can choose from nine dithering or noise shaping options, parametric EQs for PCM and DSD content, and even RIAA precise EQ for vinyl sources.

Bypassing the firmware, the Signalyst HQPlayer 4 has its own software volume control for PCM and SDM (DSD). In addition, Signalyst HQPlayer 4 is integrated with Roon, which can now be used for “highres” from the HighResAudio streaming service.

In Europe, the cost of Signalyst HQPlayer 4.15.1 was 240 euros.
