Studio Ghibli To Release “The Tale of the Kaguya Princess” Anime Soundtrack on Vinyl

“The Tale of the Kaguya Princess” animated film by Studio Ghibli will be released on vinyl. The release will be handled by the studio’s own label, Studio Ghibli Records.

The soundtrack was written by Joe Hisaishi, who has worked with Ghibli on many animated films. It was he who wrote the soundtracks for “Princess Mononoke”, “Spirited Away” and “Howl’s Moving Castle”, which became the studio’s first vinyl releases.

The 2-disc edition has no music tracks on the D side – it is laser-etched. The music itself has gone through vinyl mastering, and the sleeve is decorated with previously unused images.

The soundtrack will go on sale on April 23rd, and now you can pre-order it – the release will cost £67.
