YG Acoustics Unveils Peaks Speaker Series

Acoustic systems of the Peaks series from YG Acoustics are positioned by the manufacturer as entry-class speakers (by the standards of the brand). At the same time, the company said that Peaks is “a new reference level for its price category“.

The series includes two shelf speakers, three floor speakers and a subwoofer. All models received proprietary ForgeCore tweeters and BilletCore mid/woofers mounted on aluminum front panels specially machined by YG Acoustics. In the crossovers, the manufacturer, in his own words, used components of the “highest quality“, including the boards of its own manufacture.

The speaker cases were made of 1-inch polymer fiber. For increased strength and stability from the inside, the cabinets have been refined with spacers and resonance-absorbing material.

YG Acoustics Cairn

The younger Cairn system is made in a two-way configuration. The speaker received one tweeter and one 6-inch woofer. The next model, Tor, distinguished itself by an enlarged midrange/bass emitter up to 7 inches and, accordingly, larger dimensions. It is worth noting that these two columns, according to the company’s plan, imply installation on special branded stands.

YG Acoustics Talus

As for the floor stands, here the role of the younger model was given to the Talus system with a height of 1,015 mm. Like Tor, this speaker received one tweeter and one 7-inch woofer.

YG Acoustics Ascent and Summit

The top Ascent and Summit models are already three-way floor-standing speakers with a dedicated woofer at the base. The Ascent features a 22cm woofer, while the Summit boasts a 26cm woofer. The Descent subwoofer features a 1,000W “audiophile amplifier“, a 28cm driver, and a 3” titanium base coil.

Price and availability

YG Acoustics Peaks are available in Balanced Oak, Flamed Rosewood and Datuk Ebony finishes. In the UK, prices for the new YG Acoustics Peaks series started at £9,900 (Cairn model without racks). Top floor speakers Summit will cost from £30,000. A pair of racks will cost you nearly £2,000. The cost of the sub was £9,250.
