McIntosh Labs Systems Coming to Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer SUVs Next Year and This Year
The McIntosh car audio system will be available to Jeep Wagoneer buyers in mid-2021. And those planning to buy the Grand Wagoneer will have to wait another year. Things aren’t going so fast – information on future McIntosh systems in iconic Jeep models was available early last fall. As a result, McIntosh Labs created not one, but two systems at once – the MX950 and the top-end MX1375.
The McIntosh MX1375 system will only be installed in the Grand Wagoneer. It includes 23 drivers, including a high-end 12-inch subwoofer. All this will be provided with a total power of 1375 watts from a 24-channel amplifier. Adaptive 3D Surround Processing technology is responsible for the spaciousness of the sound.
The junior McIntosh MX950 system will be installed in the Grand Wagoneer Series I and Series II, as well as the Wagoneer Series III. The numbers characterizing the MX950 are a little more modest: 19 speakers, including a 10-inch subwoofer, are powered by a 17-channel amplifier with a total power of 950 watts.
To work on the equipment of the Grand Wagoneer, McIntosh engineers got a prototype of the car’s interior at their disposal. This allowed them to fine tune what they said was an innovative system with true McIntosh sound.
“It was great to hear how this car began to acquire the qualities of a very reference listening room,” said Charlie Randall, president of McIntosh Labs. “I can’t wait for owners to hear and feel it.”
The blue McIntosh dial gauges were not forgotten – they were displayed on the screen of the head unit.
