Monoprice SB-600 soundbar: the lowest budget 5.1.2 kit with Dolby Atmos
The American company Monoprice, headquartered near Los Angeles, has launched sales of the budget SB-600 soundbar. In fact, this is a ready-made home theater kit with Dolby Atmos support in a 5.1.2 configuration: in addition to the soundbar itself, it includes an 8-inch wireless subwoofer and a pair of satellites. And it seems to be the most affordable DK kit with ceiling ducts.
In the middle of the soundbar cabinet is a pair of two-inch full-range center channel speakers. Responsible for stereo sound are located at the edges of the 2.5-inch midrange, complemented by a pair of tweeters.
Two more emitters are directed upwards. The total maximum power of the soundbar itself is 125 watts. Up to 30 watts of sound will be shared by a pair of rear satellites, while a downward-firing subwoofer speaker will add a maximum of 180 watts.
For HDMI, the novelty is ready to pass 4K video with support for Dolby Vision and eARC. It will be able to receive an audio signal on coaxial, optical and USB connectors.
A 3.5 mm hole was left for the analog signal. Also SB-600 is ready to interact with compatible gadgets via Bluetooth 4.2. The soundbar comes with a remote control, HDMI cable and wall mount brackets.
The cost of the Monoprice SB-600 soundbar on the company’s website is $450.
