TEAC TN-175: belt-drive turntable for 160 euro

The Japanese concern TEAC has presented the most inexpensive model of the turntable in its range – the TN-175. For very little money, the user will have at his disposal a fairly advanced device.

The body of the turntable is made of MDF and rests on small rubber feet. The platter with a diameter of 29 cm is made of a composite material and covered with a rubber mat, which provides the necessary adhesion of the plate to the disk and additionally absorbs vibrations.

The belt drive supports rotation speeds of 33 and 45 rpm, and an Audio-Technica AT3600L MM cartridge is installed on a straight, fully mechanical tonearm. There is also a built-in phono stage on board, which can be turned off if desired. The package also includes a dust cover, the player weighs 3.5 kilograms.

The TEAC TN-175 will be on sale in Europe for 160 euro in three color options – black, white and cherry.
